In 1998, NexTrade, a NASDAQ ECN was in trouble. Their business had surpassed the transaction volume their trading floor system could deliver. They contracted with BEA Systems to deliver a new system. In 1999 it was evident that the system they needed would not be delivered due to crippling design and runtime deficiencies. They contacted me to first perform open-heart surgery on their existing system, and then deliver a new one. I analyzed their existing system and in 60 days doubled its transaction capacity, something Microsoft said could not be done. In 2000 and 2001, I developed the architecture, design and ran the development and delivery of an electronic trading floor (ECN) system for NexTrade Holdings, Inc. supporting 160 million shares per day taking it from architecture through implementation for a NASDAQ market maker. In October 2001, it delivered 1/7 of all NASDAQ transactions without breathing hard. This system was purchased by CitiGroup to become the platform for competing with the NYSE and NASDAQ. In 1998 and 1999 I was the lead architect responsible for developing the overall integration and application architectures for General Motors vehicle development organizations worldwide. The architectures I developed are now adopted and are being implemented providing GM with “Seamless Global Integration”. They are also being developed by BEA Systems as their "Enterprise Reference Architecture for Large Enterprises." In the 1990’s I was the lead application / integration architect for HBO & Company, (the world’s largest supplier of Healthcare Enterprise software) establishing an overall integration, application, and security architecture implemented over 19 acquired business units. My career in the 1980’s included managing the creation of Sears’ three-tier retail store system as IBM’s youngest SE Manager, designing and managing the development of IBM’s Global Information Network business systems architecture. I have in depth knowledge of all leading information technologies and excellent executive communication, management and team building skills. My deliverables are solid, hugely scalable systems. Impeccable references are available upon request. |
